20 Sep 2007 - Jolie admits 'dangerous' past
Actress Angelina Jolie feared for her life following a dangerous sexual experience as a teenager. The Tomb Raider star and her then boyfriend introduced knives into the bedroom - and it almost had dangerous consequences.

She tells Cosmopolitan magazine, "My S+M lifestyle was dangerous. My then-boyfriend and I used knives on each other. I was 14 and wanted to break out. I didn't tell anyone about it; it was a dark secret. "But I've since been more careful with things like that."

20 Sep 2007 - Angelina Jolie "not quite Lindsay Lohan drunk" at premiere, witness claims
A witness told INF Daily that Angelina Jolie was doing quite a bit of celebrating at an after party following the New York Premiere of 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.' That is the years old project from her boyfriend Brad Pitt that finally will hit limited theaters this Friday. Pitt shocked the Venice film festival when he snagged the "best actor award" and that selection was even booed by reporters.

The film is getting very good reviews. But to avoid another "A Mighty Heart" embarrassment at the box office it will be released in limited theaters this Friday. So why is Angelina Jolie celebrating - probably the great reviews.

INF Daily cites a witness that says Angie was living it up and enjoying herself and may have been a little tipsy at the after party. "She wasn't 'Lindsay Lohan' drunk, but she was definitely slurring her words." Good for Jolie. Some believe that her toned down attitude is why her movies continue to fail. The old Jolie used to have fun all the time.

INF has this report and a photo: "Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt tried to sneak out of the after-party for his new Jesse James movie, 'cos Ange had had one too many. "She was having a great time, drinking white wine and enjoying all the good feedback Brad was getting for the new film," an insider at Gustavino's restaurant in New York tells us."

"She had a little too much to drink, so Brad took her by the hand and whisked her out the back door at the end of the night, hoping they wouldn't be spotted by photographers. She wasn't 'Lindsay Lohan' drunk, but she was definitely slurring her words."

20 Sep 2007 - Jolie and Pitt will never marry
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have created such a solid relationship, they have never discussed marriage and never plan to make their union official.

Jolie insists the bond they have created, since they began dating in 2005, is stronger than marriage. She also confesses they have been put off stepping down the aisle by their previous failed unions.

She says, "Brad and I have never discussed (marriage), but I would assume - because we both went down that road before - it's not the contract or the ceremony that makes you feel solid. We've gone the other way back round, and maybe there is something to that - maybe it's hard work and the exhaustion and the children that make you feel solid."

20 Sep 2007 - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Hit the Premiere of “Jesse James”
The stars come out to support Pitt’s role as the infamous outlaw at his latest big-screen gala.

Despite craving alone time with their family of six, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrived arm in arm September 18 at the New York premiere of Pitt’s latest film, “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.”

“He [Brad] is a great actor, and I love him, so it’s wonderful to see him do his work,” Jolie raved, although she admits she doesn’t see him as a huge Hollywood star. “I see him as ‘Daddy,’” she said, smiling.

Jolie looked wide-eyed in the middle of all the camera flashes and screaming fans at the Ziegfeld Theater, where the premiere took place. “We talk often about how nice it’s going to be when we’re not as in the public eye,” said Jolie, who posed for photographers in her L'Wren Scott dress but coyly deflected questions about her ever-growing brood. “We’re like anybody — we appreciate being able to be in this business and to have had careers — and it’ll be nice when life gets quieter.”

The couple got a taste of that peace while filming “Jesse James” in Alberta, Canada, during the fall of 2005. “We had a really good life there,” Pitt said, his face glowing at the mention of his children. “We rented a log cabin out on the river and played in the woods.”

Now completed and opening in theaters September 21, the movie follows the complicated life of outlaw Jesse James (played by Pitt), whose infamy made him one of America’s very first celebrities. However, the film suggests that behind James’ robbing sprees and horrific killings lay a tormented soul whose life suddenly ended when he was shot in the back by one of his greatest admirers, Robert Ford (played by Casey Affleck).

Pitt, who is swarmed by paparazzi and press throughout the world, says James’ notoriety resonates with him. “It’s a constant negotiation,” Pitt said of the media attention surrounding him and his family. “We just figure it out as we go along. Grope your way through it.”

Gloria Estefan followed the Pitt-Jolies along the red carpet. She is celebrating her latest album, “90 Millas,” which, she pointed out, just debuted at number one in the Netherlands. Asked to choose her favorite song ever, Estefan replied, “Oh God, that’s impossible! This is my 25th album!”

With the film moments away from starting, Estefan was escorted into the theater, but villain-playing Affleck made a last-minute stop to praise his costar’s work on the movie. “Brad’s just extremely talented, really hardworking, always prepared, and then he goes off and does a million other things that are good for the world,” he said. “You sort of wonder where he gets the time.”

Someone who didn’t get such high praise from the crowd? George Clooney, who quickly guided new flame Sarah Larson past the press line, choosing not to stop for pictures amid loud “boos” from photographers.

Earlier, Clooney’s coprankster Brad Pitt let down his guard and took a friendly jab at his close pal: “He’s getting older and his star is fading,” Pitt joked about Clooney. “I think we should just help him along as best we can.”

20 Sep 2007 - Angelina's quip sets Hollywood gossipers alight
Angelina Jolie has all of Hollywood talking after launching a scathing attack on her partner Brad Pitt, according to new claims.
UK magazine Grazia reports that Angelina was overheard complaining about his lack of financial prowess, telling a male companion: "The reality is we're not a company together. Things should be separate. I think you know I make my own financial decisions."

"Brad knows there are times he should just be quiet and look pretty.

"I won't talk to Brad about this because you know how he is financially, which is stupid. Someone has to make the big decisions though.

"He'll put his money into things, (but it's) bizarre. It doesn't always make sense to me."

Reports of the alleged conversation, which is said to have taken place at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on September 5, first surfaced in American publication In Touch.

Claims of the scathing attack are said to have upset Brad - who has tried to step away from his image as a pin-up in recent times - and left him feeling "emasculated."

A source told Grazia: "Brad has really gone out of his way not to be viewed as pretty. He's always seemed very sensitive about it and I think he hates being put in that box.

"Brad is incredibly proud of all the charity work he has done in New Orleans, so of course, it must have been disappointing to hear such a comment attributed to his own girlfriend."

Still, it appears the storm is quickly passing. Despite the claims, Brad has continued to talk of increasing his brood, which already includes 6-year-old Maddox, Pax, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 1.

Brad told reporters: "They say, 'Any plans for a fifth?' And I say, 'And a sixth, and a seventh, and an eighth, and a ninth.' That's my answer."

And after pictures emerged of Angelina with a substantial bump under her figure-hugging dress, there has been speculation that she is already pregnant.

19 Sep 2007 - Has Angelina Jolie Turned Brad Pitt Into a Wimp?
Brad Pitt says he's paranoid and vulnerable. Has Angelina Jolie turned Brad Pitt into a wimp? In a recent overheard conversation Jolie basically told a man in a bar that she wears the pants in the family and Brad was more like a trophy boy meant to sit and look pretty. I guess that explains why Billy Bob Thornton and Jolie aren't still together, it's doubtful he would have taken that.

Instead Brad went with it. When a sixteen year old fan overseas just wanted a hug from the once rugged star he said he felt vulnerable. He basically called the girl "unbalanced" and then claimed he has radar to keep him warned of these situations. It must have been shut off then as she made it all the way to Pitt and got her hug before the Jolie-Pitt security removed her.

Pitt also now believes that he is Jesse James and is hunted. Is he kidding? Make no mistake, the Jolie-Pitt clan is a prime paparazzi target and he should be concerned for his kids safety. But his recent statements sound a bit over the top. He has even accused the paps of trying to get crotch shots of Jolie and says he is run out of every major city.

Brad and Angie were happy to play the paparazzi game when promoting Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The only reason that film was a hit was the games the pair played as they denied their romance on set. Now when the going gets tough and the films aren't doing well at the box office Pitt may want a shift and some privacy. Should he get it?

19 Sep 2007 - Jolie's Hopes For Pearl Film
Angelina Jolie has expressed hope that a new film about the abduction and execution of Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl will help bring people closer together.

The actress, who plays Pearl’s wife Mariane in A Mighty Heart, said there were a number of political risks in making the movie but suggested it may help build bridges.

The film, released in the UK on Friday, adapts Mariane Pearl’s memoirs, recounting the moments before and after her husband was beheaded by Islamic fundamentalists in January 2002 – his execution and final words ‘I am Jewish’ filmed by his killers and broadcast over the internet

Mariane was six months pregnant with their son Adam when her husband was kidnapped by militants while researching a story on shoe bomber Richard Reid She met Jolie when the pair arranged playdates for their children.

Jolie said: “Mariane has suffered the ugliest side of all that is going on in the world today and came out of it believing we cannot just be angry and blinded by hate, but must continue to have a dialogue.

“If I don’t represent her right, and people don’t see what a beautiful, strong, open-minded, loving woman she is, then I’ve done a disservice and hurt a really great woman.”

Work on the film began in 2003 after Jolie’s partner Brad Pitt read Mariane’s book and decided to turn it into a film through his production company Plan B Entertainment.

Director Michael Winterbottom said he tried his best to keep the film faithful to Mariane’s memoirs. “We started by following her descriptions of events,” he said, “then I tried to meet with everyone who was with her at the time. Each meeting added extra details to the story.”

Filming took place in France, where the couple married, India, where the Pearls were staying and Pakistan where Mariane’s husband was killed.

Jolie said she was aware of the political dangers in making the film, “We talked about the risks before we started filming, the security concerns and what it would mean politically if we got it wrong. We could anger more people and make it worse.

“But if by some small chance we get it right, maybe we can do a little something towards bringing people back together, or at least looking at each other in another light.”

Mariane herself was very please with the team working on the film. “I am delighted that Angelina Jolie is playing my role,” she said. “I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to. I am also happy that Michael Winterbottom, a versatile and talented director who genuinely loves truth, is working on this project.

“In his work, Danny struggled to keep free of dogma and alliance. He didn’t represent a country or a flag, just the pursuit of truth. He was there to hold up a mirror and force people to look at themselves. What better way is there to respect humanity?”

19 Sep 2007 - Brad Pitt: 'We Are Going to Need a Bigger Bed'
Brad Pitt says he and Angelina Jolie are going to need a bigger bed – for their expanding brood.

"We're not done," Pitt, 43, quipped, acknowledging public interest in the family's growth. "They say, 'Any plans for a fifth?' And I say, 'And a sixth, and a seventh, and an eighth, and a ninth.' That's my answer."

"We also made a 9-foot-wide bed" that fits him, Jolie, 32, and all four children, Pitt who is starring in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, told the Associated Press. "Just big enough. One more and we'll have to go to 11 feet."

The Jolie-Pitt clan already consists of four kids, all born in Asia or Africa: Maddox, 6, Pax, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 1. And, while one parent works in front of the camera, the other takes time off to look after them.

"We just take turns and make sure we keep the family together," Pitt said, adding in an interview with USA Today, "It's impossible for us. We're run out of every major city. There's just too many paparazzi. There's always cameras in the kids' faces, yelling their names."

Although he doesn't pack a six-shooter like his latest screen character Jesse James, Pitt admits he's concerned about "how to survive and how to maintain a family life."

"I understand the essence of paranoia. I understand being hunted, to some degree. It's rare, but there are imbalanced people out there. I've had break-ins in the house," Pitt said. "I've had some of these abnormal incidents that can be a bit frightening.

"It's something that I want to be aware of and be cautious about, especially with the family, that everybody's protected," he told the AP.

The Assassination of Jesse James opens in limited release Friday and netted Pitt the best-actor award at the Venice Film Festival. The family's current base is New York because he is shooting the Coen brothers' flick Burn After Reading.
