Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt want to expand their "rainbow" family by adopting a child from Burma.

The couple have enlisted the help of one of the country's leading monks to plan a trip to an orphanage.

According to an insider, Angelina, 32, has become "increasingly despondent" about the progress she is making in helping the Third World.

She is said to be desperate to offer help to troubled nations, and feels the repressive Republic of Myanmar, or Burma, is the ideal place to adopt another child – preferably, a girl.

The actress already has four children. She adopted eldest son Maddox, six, from Cambodia five years ago, prior to her relationship with Pitt. Two years ago she and Pitt, 43, adopted an Ethiopian girl, Zahara.

Earlier this year the couple adopted Pax Thien, three, from Vietnam and last year Angelina gave birth to their daughter Shiloh.

The source said: "Angelina feels she is barely making a dent in the suffering she sees throughout the Third World as she travels incognito to different countries as a United Nations representative.

"She wants to step up her action in what she calls Red Alert areas, the most seriously troubled, war-torn areas in the world.

"She's in talks to go into Burma and help with students and AIDS victims who are suffering terribly."

The source added Angelina had been talking to a monk about a safe travel route through the military state and a visit to an orphanage.

She is said to believe adopting another girl would balance her family and a child from Burma would fit into its racial mix.

Angelina has enlisted the help of Dr Jane Aronson, an adoption specialist who runs the Worldwide Orphans Foundation.

It is understood she has acted as a mentor to the actress after helping her with the adoption of Zahara.

According to the source, Angelina's frustration at not doing enough to help the Third World is exacerbated by her sense that she and Pitt spend too much time in Hollywood.

She is also said to have become depressed after the death of her mother, French actress Marcheline Bertrand, in January. The actress has blamed her weight plummeting to under 7st on her grief.

Angelina has spoken in the past of her desire to start a "rainbow" family of children adopted from nations all over the world.

She recently said: "Ever since I was about 12, I've always wanted to adopt – I don't know why. We want to have a big, big family."

Brad Pitt has praised partner Angelina Jolie for being an "amazing" mother.

The 43-year-old actor - who has three adopted children, six-year-old Maddox, three-year-old Pax, and two-year-old Zahara, as well as a 15-month-old biological daughter, Shiloh, with the actress - says his family is blessed.

He said: "One of the things I'm most happy about for my kids, is that they have a mother who, I think, is amazing."

The Ocean's Thirteen star added his children always cheer him up if he is feeling down.

He told ABC's Good Morning America: "They say the funniest things I've ever heard. They're the funniest people I've ever met."

Pitt also revealed playing Jesse James in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford brought back memories of his childhood, as him and his character both grew up in Missouri.

He said: "He's from the same area that I'm from. I was surprised how much that meant to me in the end, to do something that had a connection with home."

The actor says the role made him reflect on the "congenital sadness" of the region.

He added: "It's something that I feel in my grandparents, in the people I've met, in a Southern way of life. It's something pervasive, an undercurrent that I think Christianity answers."

The pair known around the world as Brangelina are either splitting up or arguing constantly according to various insider sources that constantly spill their family secrets to the entertainment media and the tabloids. The latest - Angelina refusing to have Thanksgiving dinner with his family!

According to a report from Life & Style Weekly Angie is refusing the American celebration of Thanksgiving and will do anything to get out of seeing Brad's parents in Springfield, Missouri and she tells people that she doesn't even celebrate Thanksgiving, her friend says.

That leads to immediate speculation that the Holiday maybe just too American for Angie's United Nations taste or leaves an easy joke open that there may just be too much food present on the down home Southern Missouri table. But perhaps Brad (shut up and look pretty) is about to take a stand.

The story from the weekly entertainment magazine notes that after two years of traveling all over the world whenever Angie asked and always deferring to her on matters as vital as where to live and when to adopt another child, Brad's beginning to feel he deserves some freedom and control again.

"Brad says he's spent the past two years doing everything for Angie," the insider says, "and she's given nothing back." We'll see - it will be a shocker if Brad takes back the pants in the quasi family.

GENEVA, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres and UNHCR's Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie will join former US President Bill Clinton at the September 26-28 meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI).
The gathering, which will take place in in New York, is to issue a call to raise USD 220 million for refugee education.

The CGI aims to inspire commitments of help from its members. The UNHCR "Ninemillion" program is centered on the provision of educational support beyond the existing schooling now offered by UNHCR - to 9 million refugee children by 2010.

Education (Plus) will provide resources to develop a child's full potential, with an emphasis on girls' participation and additional activities like life-skills training, sport programs, disease prevention and access to technology.

Movie star Jon Voight is so desperate to get back into the good graces of his estranged daughter Angelina Jolie - he has helped plant a rose bush memorial to the actress' late mother.

The Deliverance star split from Jolie's mother, actress/producer Marcheline Bertrand, in 1976, leaving his ex to bring up his son and daughter, Jolie, alone.
After years of estrangement, Jolie and her father, reconciled and appeared together in the first Tomb Raider movie - but they fell out in 2002 when Voight publicly accused her of being mentally ill.

Voight has been trying to reconcile with his daughter ever since, admitting recently he has never met her four kids. And now sources suggest an odd rose-bush planting ceremony in a public park is Voight's latest shot at ending years of estrangement.

The actor, 68, met with friends, including poet John Trudell, at the park near where Bertrand lived for a Native American planting ceremony on 1 September (07).

Sources tell U.S. tabloid the Globe, "Jon made a touching speech about his ex-wife and asked the others to share their own special memories. "Jon got out a card, scribbled, 'I love you Marchie,' and had everyone else write a message, then tied it to the rose bush with a ribbon."

Yesterday was a busy day for Brad Pitt. He started his day with an interview with Good Morning America's Diane Sawyer, then he attended the premier of 'Darfur Now' with Angelina Jolie.

Brad & Angelina looked fantabulous in matching white, as they arrived at the Dag Hammarskjoeld Auditorium at the United Nations to be part of the important event.

The movie 'Darfur Now', which opens in theaters this November, addresses the ongoing African genocide by exploring the continued conflict in Sudan through the experiences of six people.

Two other stars are part of this humanitarian project, Don Cheadle & George Clooney .... but they weren't present at the UN premier yesterday.

According to a new report, Brad has had it with Angie’s paranoid belief that her man is still hung up on ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.

A Pitt family insider reportedly reveals to Life & Style magazine: "Brad says Angelina is so insecure, he's caught her going through his pockets on more than one occasion."

According to the insider, when Brad catches Angie, "She turns everything on its head and tries to make Brad the villain."

"She accuses him of still being hung up on Jennifer Aniston and of not wanting Angie to see the e-mails he's sending to his ex-wife."

So Brad has done what any other man would do in the same situation and allegedly suggested that the couple have an open relationship.

The source continues: "His idea is that when they're apart, he can be with other women and she can be with other people."

How much stress is Angelina Jolie under? The one time voluptuous star is but a shell of her former self, now looking gaunt and at times very unhealthy. Her brother and her boyfriend Brad Pitt have both expressed concerns on her dramatic weight loss post baby Shiloh. Photos have observers pointing to her dwindling frame and guessing her weight.

Now, according to an article in Australia's Woman's Day she has admitted that her health issues have not only caused concern but in real life has caused problem with her sex life. The report notes that while she credits Brad with helping her through her difficult times, the star admits much of the sexual passion has fizzled out of the couple's relationship as they struggle with the demands of parenthood and busy careers.

"Obviously your intimacy is not the same," she says. "You are always engrossed and often you collapse with exhaustion in the evening." She does add that Brad is a romantic. She still blames the death of her mother for what seems like a nasty funk she had dropped into. But many wonder if she was so concerned about her mother's fading health and brave battle against cancer she was absent from Los Angeles.

For most of the last months of her life Marcheline Bertrand was in Southern California while Jolie was traveling the world. She even elected to have her baby in Namibia far away from her ailing mother. Is it that guilt that is now causing so many problems for Angelina Jolie?
