11 Oct 2007 - Jolie and Voight reconciliation reports 'a mistake'
Latest rumours Angelina Jolie and estranged father Jon Voight have reconciled are "a mistake" - according to the actor's representative.

The pair were spotted at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on Sunday (07Oct07), sparking rumours of a truce between father and daughter.
But a spokesperson for the 68-year-old star insists, "It's all a mistake. They didn't see each other all weekend."

Voight and Jolie fell out in 2002 after Voight insinuated on TV his daughter was mentally ill.

11 Oct 2007 - Angelina Jolie doesn't like George Clooney
The actress reportedly dislikes George - a close friend of her lover Brad Pitt - so much she refused to attend the New York premier of his movie 'Michael Clayton' last month.

A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine, "Angie is not particularly close to George, so she didn't see why she had to be there.

"She asked Brad if he minded going alone, but Brad says it wasn't really a question. And it was fine with him."

Angelina, 32, allegedly fears lothario George will lead Brad astray, and distract him from his duties as a father.

The source added, "Angie doesn't get along with any of Brad's friends. When they are back in Los Angeles she discourages him from going on boys' nights out."

Brad, 43, and Angelina are parents to adopted children Maddox, six, Pax, three and Zahara, two, as well as 16-month-old biological daughter Shiloh. It appears George is no fan of Angelina either.

He recently slammed female stars who adopt children from foreign countries, claiming they are doing it to fill a "gap" in their careers.

George, 46, said, "There is nothing more cruel than Hollywood. In a period of years, a woman's career is over. After they have been beating down your door with work, they toss you out from one day to the next. The first thing a lot of women do to fill the gap is adopt kids. That's a bit weird isn't it?"

10 Oct 2007 - Angelina Jolie not wearing black
Angelina Jolie strays from her regular black, white and khaki outfits and adds a splash of color into her wardrobe while picking up son Maddox, 6, from the Lycée Français de New York school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon.

The mother-of-four wore a bold yellow-ish green v-neck sweater, a black pencil skirt and her fave new pair of black peep-toes.

Did somebody say yellow-ish green? Isn’t that JustJared.com’s color?! Angie, are you shouting us out??

10 Oct 2007 - Jolie's home - Crawling with roaches
An apartment building that once housed Babe Ruth, Jack Dempsey and more recently Angelina Jolie is now the home of countless cockroaches, a tenant's lawsuit charges.

Lawyer Alan Arkin says in papers filed in Manhattan's state Supreme Court that the 14th-floor apartment he rents with his wife in the Ansonia on Manhattan's Upper West Side has been made "completely uninhabitable" by the insect swarms.

"They crawl across the floor, on the walls, on the ceilings, on the curtains and even in the bed," Arkin said Tuesday after filing the lawsuit against Sirius LLC, the realty company that owns the building at 74th Street and Broadway.

Arkin, not related to the actor of the same name, says he and wife Suzanne Bagert, also an attorney, cannot turn out the lights at night because the roaches come out immediately and swarm all over them as they try to sleep.

"Perhaps most disgustingly, cockroaches have crawled in their food and coffee maker," Arkin's court papers say. "Killing them does very little. Recently after the cockroaches were crushed, killed and vacuumed away during the day, (they) counted 16 cockroaches in the hallway outside the apartment."

Calls to Sirius and its president Jesse Krasnow for comment were not immediately returned.

The Ansonia became a 430-apartment condominium building in 1992. Arkin said actress Angelina Jolie has an apartment on the floor where he lives.

Arkin, who says he pays "several thousand dollars a month" rent to the owner of his apartment, says Sirius "has completely failed to address this situation" and has failed to compensate the couple for their damages and expenses.

Instead, Arkin said, Sirius' representatives have suggested that he and his wife should just move.

Arkin's lawsuit asks unspecified money damages.

09 Oct 2007 - Angelina Jolie's baby Zahara gives the finger to photographers
Angelina Jolie and the man she is currently sleeping with, Brad Pitt, are constant paparazzi targets. Any slip up, body change or stumble is seemingly recorded on digital memory and published for all to see. They have asked for privacy and especially for privacy for their kids and perhaps the adorable baby Zahara has had enough. The two and half year little girl was snapped Monday and she appears to be telling the paparazzi that "You're number One!' by flipping the bird and flipping them off.

Of course it is surely and accidental (she appears to be scratching her face or sucking her thumb and that middle finger just happens to be sticking up) but the shot is still priceless and if she could she would likely love to tell the flashbulb poppers exactly what to do with their cameras. Even Brad recently said she dreads being around photographers. The photo is here.

Pitt added in a recent interview that he felt like "Jesse James" as he was hunted wherever he went. Many then mocked him as a drama queen and told him to toughen up a bit but he had even more to say in his revealing interview with Parade magazine. The article was published this week in many Sunday newspapers.

Brad gave this: "I mean, yesterday Angie was taking Maddie off to school," he continues angrily. "There were 30 paparazzi outside. One guy sticks a video camera in Mad's face, yelling, 'Maddox! Maddox!' He doesn't get a response. He doesn't know my boy. Mad is already savvy to this, unfortunately."

Continuing: "But my 2-year-old dreads being anyplace there are cameras. It scares her. They're all in her face. My kids are faced with this every day! It's disgusting. So we've been run out of L.A., all the major cities. We just can't live there. You don't understand—this is the hunt, the hunt, the hunt! I thought it might be over a year ago. It's gotten worse."

09 Oct 2007 - Angelina Jolie meets with estranged dad Jon Voight
Angelina Jolie has reportedly made the first steps to reconcile with her father Jon Voight after meeting him in New York this weekend.

Angelina stopped speaking to her dad after he said she had “serious mental problems” on Access Hollywood in 2002. However, she made suggestions earlier this year that she was going to try to patch things up with him but as of August, he hadn’t heard anything from her.

According to reports, the Midnight Cowboy star was spotted leaving the Waldorf Astoria hotel yesterday - when Angelina and her family are currently based - and he smiled for the waiting cameras but refused to give any details about why he was there.

An inside source revealed that after years of deadlock, things have started moving slowly between the estranged pair: “Jon wanted to meet the children but that didn’t happen.”

“It was just a one-on-one with Angie but he thinks at least that’s a start.”

09 Oct 2007 - Inside Pitt-Jolie's reported NYC pad
Hollywood's Royalty Bunk at Waldorf Tower With Presidents and Kings.

As the old saying goes, in real estate, it's all about location, location, location.

Throw celebrities or high-profile politicos into the mix and there's another factor that's just as important: security, security, security.

New York City's Waldorf Towers, located next to the tony Waldorf Astoria hotel, boasts both those qualities, making it the home of choice for both heads of state and Hollywood royalty. Its newest reported residents: pop culture king and queen Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The New York Post reported Tuesday that Pitt and Jolie have moved into an apartment in the Towers, citing anonymous sources. According to the Post, the couple also considered a residence in the newly built Time Warner Center but picked the Waldorf because they got a price break on the apartment.

Representatives for the Waldorf Towers declined to comment on the Post's story, saying in a statement, "We do not comment on our guests in any capacity so as to respect their privacy while staying with us."

Representatives for Pitt and Jolie did not immediately return phone calls or e-mail messages.

But people familiar with the needs of New York City's elite agree that the Towers are a natural choice for the A-list couple. It boasts a sought-after zip code, fortress-like security and centuries of prestige -- past residents of the Towers include President Herbert Hoover and musician Cole Porter. What more could Brad and Angie want?

Security Fit for Real and Hollywood Royalty

"There is a whole mindset and methodology in place that is geared to elevating the protection of its guests and residents," said Lou Palumbo, president and director of the Elite Agency, which provides protection for at least one head of state, cabinet level U.S. officials, members of the Chinese government and ABC News operations in New York.

Located just down the street from the United Nations where Jolie serves as goodwill ambassador, the Waldorf plays host to many of the 160 or so heads of state and dignitaries who arrive for the opening of the General Assembly.

"It is the temporary residence and indeed the temporary White House when the president is in New York," Palumbo said. "They are attuned to and mindful of the need to provide security on an elevated level."

Inside the residential tower, in addition to the doormen and plainclothes house detectives who are the front line for hotel security, many of the floors have separate guard booths and security forces provided by the U.N. or, in some cases, the U.S. government. Even the parking structure is designed to maximize security.

"The parking structure, what we call 'the Well' is deep inside the building, it's private, private property and supplies an added layer of protection, including for press issues," Palumbo said. "Is it the only facility like this in New York City? Absolutely not, but I believe it is a very secure facility for high-profile people. The mindset is to protect the privacy and well-being of the guest."

Joe Russo, senior vice president and director of special operations for T & M Protection, noted that because of the number of high-level guests and residents, in addition to the many official functions held there, the Waldorf has a steady drum beat of security.

"The fact is that there is the perception of security," he said. "People also know they will be treated as VIPs."

When the president is in town or the U.N. is in session and the concrete jersey barriers go up, armored SUVs line the streets and men in suits with earpieces pace the blocks, that only adds to the overall perception of security. Not only do those being protected feel safe, they also feel important -- something both celebrities and heads of state crave.

"They come, of course, because it's the Waldorf," said Russo, who also headed former President Bill Clinton's security team for the Secret Service. "But after that it's hard to say what comes first -- whether they come because of the security or the security is there because of the guests. They feed on each other."

If indeed they do end up at the Waldorf Towers, Brangelina will be able to feed on just about everything -- status, security, prestige and, if they so desire, candle-lit dinners prepared and delivered by the Towers' world-class chefs.
