16 Oct 2007 - Who's that girl? Angelina Jolie transforms her look for a new role
Angelina Jolie, dressed in brown fur, a cloche hat and short wig, looked looked almost unrecognisable as she began work on her new film The Changeling.

The actress stepped back in time for the upcoming drama, which is set in the 1920s and based on a true story.

In the film, which is directed by Clint Eastwood, 32-year-old Angelina plays a mother who suspects her son, returned to her after an abduction, is not really hers.

The globetrotting actress, who has been regularly spotted collecting her son Maddox from school in New York this month, has now left the Big Apple and will be based in LA while the movie is being shot.

Her partner Brad Pitt is about to finish work on the comedy Burn After Reading which co-stars his good friend George Clooney, and will soon begin work on State of Play, a crime thriller based on the BBC mini-series of the same title.

Angelina has revealed she eventually plans to step away from acting and the Hollywood spotlight, which she describes as "silliness".

She has said: "Brad and I have a lot of kids, and we want to have more kids. It's fun, and we love it. But you can't balance everything.

"I think both of us only plan to work for a few more years. We'll try to stop sooner or later, so we can be home and travel, and just live."

15 Oct 2007 - Brad Pitt: 'Parenting with a hangover is a misery'
Brad Pitt thinks drinking beer made him a neglectful dad.

The Ocean's Thirteen star decided to massively cut down his alcohol intake after seeing his adopted daughter Zahara, two, choke on an ice cube.

He said: "It's not easy to be a good father when you've had a few drinks.

"About a year ago I'd had a couple of beers and my daughter Zahara had this piece of ice that had been dropped on the floor, and she was putting it in her mouth and began to choke on it, and that was it.

"You have to be absolutely on top of every situation. The other s**t doesn't work anymore. When they wake up in the middle of the night you have to be there.

"And you can't deal with children when you have a hangover - that's just a misery!"

Brad and his long-term partner Angelina Jolie have three adopted children, six-year-old Maddox, three-year-old Pax, and two year-old Zahara, as well as a 16-month-old biological daughter, Shiloh.

The 43-year-old actor insists his kids find it difficult to cope with having famous parents.

He explained to Total Film magazine: "It's odd for my children, man. They have this idea that there's this sea of people with cameras. This is their idea of the world they live in."

15 Oct 2007 - Jolie nudged into best-actress race
Santa Barbara fest jump-starts “A Mighty Heart.”

Coming one day before the release of "A Mighty Heart" on DVD, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced Monday that it would be honoring Angelina Jolie with its Outstanding Performance of the Year Award for her role as Mariane Pearl in Michael Winterbottom's summer drama.

Jolie will receive the award at a special event in Santa Barbara on Feb. 2.

The timing of the announcement and DVD release appear perfectly poised to kick-start a campaign to put Jolie in the Oscar race for best actress.

Numerous prognosticators have already noted that there is a rather thin field of viable competitors in the category this year, unlike the bulging-over best actor and supporting categories.

For now, the main competition for best actress looks to be from Julie Christie ("Away From Her"), Ellen Page ("Juno"), Marion Cotillard ("La Vie en Rose"), Keira Knightley ("Atonement") and Laura Linney ("The Savages"), with such performers as Halle Berry ("Things We Lost in the Fire") and Amy Adams ("Enchanted") waiting in the wings.

A performer with the star power of Jolie may be able to nudge her way back in.

Though "A Mighty Heart" was thought to have underperformed at the box office after its early-summer release, Jolie's performance received uniformly positive notices.

In a news release, Roger Durling, executive director of the SBIFF, commented, "We are honored to celebrate Ms. Jolie in what is arguably one of the most extraordinary female roles of the year."

15 Oct 2007 - George Clooney Joins Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt: Bombs at Box Office
Maybe American movie goers have had it with political activists as actors. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie constantly lecture folks in America about how they believe we should all behave and they haven't had a hit since rumors of an affair boosted their 2005 release "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" to the top of the box office. Now George Clooney has been handed a stinging defeat as he finished third this week with Michael Clayton.

Clooney is quite a bit sharper that Pitt and Jolie and tries his best to keep hi political opinions out of the limelight. He has learned the hard way not to try and force his political opinions out. Pitt - not so much. Just recently he dragged Clooney into a political conversation saying he should run for president.

Clooney said - no thanks. Here's the tale of the tape from Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood Daily. "My box office analysts expected Warner's R-rated Michael Clayton, which expanded into 2,511 theaters this weekend, to be the No. 1 film. Instead, it's only #3 after earning just $3.2 million Friday from 2,511 plays."

She adds, "By Sunday, the pecking order should change to this: #1 Why Did I Get Married with a 3-day estimate of $22.1 mil, #2 The Game Plan (3-day est $11.2 mil), #3 We Own The Night (3-day est $10.9 mil), and #4 Michael Clayton (3-day est $9.8 mil).

15 Oct 2007 - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie rent apartment at Waldorf Towers for USD 100,000 a month
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been always on the go in the last several years. Aside from having to travel round the world to make movies, both Pitt and Jolie are no strangers to taking long-distance trips for other purposes. Jolie would set off on another charitable mission to some hot and arid country as Pitt would be away in New Orleans helping to rebuild the city devastated by Hurricane Katrina. No wonder it took them quite a while to pick a place to settle.

In August the media reported that the global pair had finally decided to settle in Berlin. Apparently, the pair had second thoughts about moving to Europe. Now Pitt and Jolie look set to making Manhattan their home, at least for the time being. According to recent reports, they are renting a super-deluxe penthouse apartment at the ritzy Waldorf Towers, which sits next to the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on East 50th Street. A newly renovated and fully furbished luxury pad is within a stone’s throw of the United Nations, for which Jolie is a goodwill ambassador. Besides, it is a few steps away from a private school attended by the couple’s eldest child Maddox.

There should be plenty of room for Pitt and Jolie and their four kids in the new apartment whose total area is approximately 6,000 square foot. The apartment features five bedrooms, six baths, a dining area, and a terrace with a terrific view. The residents can enjoy a variety of perks including room service, twice-daily maid service plus round-the-clock security. The Waldorf Towers security personnel have repeatedly proven their efficiency when it comes to scaring paparazzi off the Towers’ celebrity guests including leaders of the free world and members of the royalty, The New York Post reports.

The famous couple has to pay a pretty penny - $100,000 a month – for renting their luxury pad at the Waldorf Towers. The apartment chosen by Pitt and Jolie is the most expensive one among 30 penthouse apartments at the residence. “It’s actually grander than the Towers’ Presidential Suite,” one broker said.

On the downside, Pitt may find it a bit tough to forgo his casual clothes in exchange for living at the Waldorf Towers. The star has a penchant for T-shirts and jeans. He may have to occasionally refrain from wearing them because the Towers has a “dress attire” that forbids guests to wear “T-shirts, tank tops, faded jeans, cut-offs and casual hats” in its main lobby, restaurants or other public areas.

Meanwhile, Pitt has been worried about Jolie’s health of late. The media has been reporting about the actress’ significant weight loss over the last several months. According to reports, Jolie weights only 109 pounds these days, and she keeps shedding pounds.

Sources say Jolie has been taking medications to boost her vitality. But the medications do not seem to work well. Aside from losing her weight, the actress is reportedly getting increasingly disenchanted with her family too. Pitt has to take care of his ailing wife and their children, RIA Novosti reports.

15 Oct 2007 - More videos! + Support Amazing Angelina!
Just added 12 new videos, so go check them out!

I've been emailing my host (Hollywood.com) every day for all week asking them when they're going to give me my Coppermine gallery, and I still get no response... I'm really tired of this.

Also, I'm trying to get a new host, but noone replies to my requests, so I guess noone likes my site...

I'll keep emailing the guys at Hollywood.com and keep fighting for my Coppermine gallery because it would be a pity to close my site... I mean, I've been online for more than 2 years now (this started as a Tomb Raider site when I was in high school, actually), and I don't want to just shut it down. So I'll keep it up as long as Hollywood.com allows me to, and if they let me, I'll improve it with a better gallery. I just don't know how to ask it to them anymore! I keep emailing them every single day and they don't do a thing!

Well... I'm just tired, I have personal issues also, and maybe a book of my own coming out soon, so there's a lot happening in my life, and I'm doing my best for the site. I hope you understand.

The site IS up, and WILL continue to be up!!! For as long as I don't have my Coppermine gallery, I'll keep adding more and more news and videos, and I'll keep bothering the guys at Hollywood.com until I get what I want xD

Thanks for the support!!!

12 Oct 2007 - Angelina and Son Leave School With "Bye Bye Maddox" Card
After a little over a month, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 5, had his last day at his $18,000-a-year Lycee Francais de New York in NYC yesterday, walking out with a goodbye card as a souvenir as mom Angelina Jolie escorted him home.

This is at least the fourth school change for Maddox, who has also been a student in New Orleans, Prague, and L.A.

Since the oldest member of the Jolie-Pitt brood started classes on September 4, his stay had caused a frenzy. Parents began crowding the school in the morning, taking pictures. The Lycee's director of operations, Dan Cooke, even penned a letter September 14, urging them to respect the family's privacy.

The next stop for the Brangelina clan? L.A.! Jolie begins shooting the Clint Eastwood mystery The Changeling on Monday, while Brad Pitt will start production on the crime thriller State of Play on October 22.
